Music for Movement & Cognition

Workshop Description

This workshop will start with introductions and some welcoming music. Participants are welcome to play, sing and actively participate in musical activities or listen and observe. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of music interventions to address motor function, such as gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination. You will also work on cognitive skills such as attention, executive functioning and auditory perception. You will incorporate familiar music and write a new song together! Participants will also be offered suggestions about how they can incorporate music into their daily lives. If you have any song or music suggestions, please bring them to the workshop and Janel will do her best to incorporate them!
